10 years

well we made it. 10 whole years of marriage bliss (10 years and 5 days...i'm a little behind) i can honestly say that we've been happily married this whole time and neither of us see that changing any time soon.

but i will say that as the day approached i realized i was deeply disappointed that we weren't going to be able to do anything to celebrate. i was even more disappointing that at the beginning of this year we had over $1000 saved up and a big trip (just the two of us) planned. but with the way this year turned out that money was long gone before summer even started. it was hard. since having kids we have been away over night ONCE. i was looking forward to alone time with my man. i was excited to celebrate.

i guess i just needed to have a pity party today.

jakes b-day

jake's birthday was this past week and since i knew his dad was getting him the only thing he really wanted (a baseball mitt) i decided that his "office" needed a makeover. he just moved into this room and it was looking a bit "bachelor pad-ish" so i fixed that for him. so on saturday while he was working all day the boys and i gave it a little face lift.

no that big of a difference (although, it would be if i showed all the pictures) but he likes it. now if i could just get him to move the rest of his books in there we'd both be happy

after his long day at work we met up with him and his parents and had a good ol family dinner (at the most crowded red robin on the planet) but we had a good time!!!

family park trips are the bee's knees (those are suppose to be pretty cool, right?) the fishing wasn't great but solly had fun. it was nice enjoying what might be the end of our sunny streak.

my crazy hubby has a funny way of cheering me up...and he doesn't even know it. he came home from work and wanted his new favorite to eat...
