the long weekend

this labor day weekend we had ourselves all kinds 'o' fun here at home. it all started on thursday when i brought home puppies that i had the privilege to babysit for the weekend. they belong to my friend/boss and they are cute enough to EAT!

the boys were so good with the puppies. solly loved playing puppy daddy:
their just like real babies. they eat, poop and sleep (and sleep and sleep and sleep some more)

we also spent some time outside this weekend riding bikes and playing with chalk.

at the beginning of the weekend jake and i taught solly how to ride a bike...the next day he just would not, could not do it. so today he tried again and this time he GOT IT!! he's really cruising now. he spent about an hour outside today just riding up and down our street. then we took a break and he wanted to ride some more...but it was raining. turns out a little rain can't stop him! we spent another hour out in the rain and both the boys rode the WHOLE TIME!

it was a pretty good weekend. although i could've used a little more time with my hubby. alas, his hours suck right now & when he does work its on the most ridiculous days & times. someday we'll get away again together. meanwhile, if anyone has any ideas on a good FREE getaway that i could take my man on i'd be happy to hear them. thanks!

my weekend.

saturday:
started as every saturday should. on the couch watching cartoons!
the rest of our saturday was spent at my moms & then at Lowe's with both my mom and day getting supplies for....
sunday:
i woke up with what i thought was a nasty cold. but, my moms birthday is coming up & she has been trying to get her house all ready for an inspection so i organized a work birthday party for her. i got about 15 people out to help it took a little while but work finally started to get done. (there was a LOT to do)
the kids managed to have some fun
solly trying to "crack the egg" (if you don't know about the building in the background...don't ask)
so that nasty cold was turning into a fever and i was feeling terrible after being that work party for only about 2 hours. so jake took me home and put me to bed...5 hours later i pulled me out of bed and dumped me in my chair and filled me full of vitamins and medicine. i stayed awake for a while watching greys anatomy off on and on. i then fell asleep in my chair for another 2 or 3 hours...then went to bed for the night and slept 7 or 8 hours. and praise the lord i am feeling better today...
monday:
the boys are playing quietly and i have even managed to get some house work done. i just might live...this time.
i am praying for a much better week this week. please lord, no toothaches, flu or any other 3rd thing that i can't think of...please?

whidby weekend

i am lucky enough to have in-laws that live on whidby island (i'm also lucky enough to have in-laws that i get along with really well) so all FOUR of us got to go up for the weekend. we spent some time at the beach & lots of time in their backyard just hanging out. it was a lot of fun, and i think jake even got to relax a little bit.

once again we spent a fun filled weekend together as a family & we still did not get a family picture...some day. hopefully before the boys go off to college.

the weekend update

so after a trip to the mall and rose going home (sniff, sniff) then jake got home and (as usual) we took the boys to the park...but this time we used the wagon, they LOVED riding together!

then of course on to the swings. moses & solly both have new found love of going really high on the swings and moses just giggles!
moses thought it was pretty funny to run away. and that is fine with me...he slept really good that night
moses was in such a good mood, since he had his daddy home and all :) so i guess he decided to sit on him so that he wouldn't go anywhere!

then on sunday while waiting to go over to becca's house moses found a nice place to sit...he loves sitting in baskets (witch i think is funny that my baby moses finds himself at home in a basket)
then it was off to becca's. where i tormented her with my camera. but she brought it on herself by telling me that she hates having her picture taken!
it was a good time full of some of my favorite people...


becca's mom even made sure that the kids had a pool to play in. and oh boy did they play! at one point i got moses out and got him all warmed up and in dry clothes...and then he jumped in head first with all this clothes on. and of course kristin just couldn't resist jumping(or hobbling) in since she has her cast off finally.

we had good food. and a lot of fun!
